West Tower Exclusive Wedding Venue is seriously gorgeous. The building and grounds offer a perfect backdrop for wedding photography! Yay for me! Its the first time I have had the pleasure of photographing a wedding there and I hope I get another chance soon!
I only met Tim & Jo a few weeks before the big day! I was drafted in last minute after some unforeseen circumstances with their original wedding photographer so we didn't really have a chance to bond! (I do like to bond with my couples before the day so I know their limits when it comes to what I can get them to do!) But we really didn't need it. They are such a lovely warm pair it made my job on the day so easy.
On the morning of the wedding the mood in the bridal suite was so calm! Jo was in her element. Like she had been waiting for this day all of her life. Also in the bridal suite were Jo's three bridesmaids and her hair dresser plus makeup artist. The bridal suite at West Tower is HUGE...! I think it helped with the calm mood because everyone had their own space to get ready.
I swooned over Jo's Sophia Webster shoes and Rosa Clara dress as relatives started arriving to get ready. West Tower offers rooms & cottages so that you can fall from the dance floor straight into bed!
The grooms party started to arrive and that meant it was nearly time! I was so excited... (i'm sure I wasn't the only one!!) This is the part of the day that the adrenaline starts kicking for me because the countdown to the ceremony starts... I always get super excited as the Ceremony literally fills me with joy!
After some photo's with Tim and the boys (minus the one who was LATE) I headed back to the bridal suite so Joanne could get her dress on.
Joanne was still cool as a cucumber as she transformed into one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. Complete with floral bouquet from Formby Wedding Rooms. One of my favourite pictures from the day is where Jo's mum walks into the room just as the bridesmaids are helping Jo into her dress. The expressions on both of their faces are just lovely.
A fabulous alternative to a guestbook was provided by the couple.. Guests were encouraged to write a message on a tree decoration so that they hang them on their own Christmas tree each year to remember their wonderful Christmas wedding. My favourite message has to be 'GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY... Mum & Dad' Looks as though someone wants some grandchildren soon!
Guests were treated to music by Harpist Maxine Molin-Rose both before and after the ceremony, the room at west tower was just flooded with light from the winter sun and it just added something magical (for half of the ceremony I was completely blind though... ha).
Once the I do's were done and the deal was sealed superstar Magician David Burgess wowed the crowds in the cellar bar with his amazing magic tricks! Seriously WOW WOW WOW! I'd recommend him to anyone, Amazing skill and a genuinely lovely guy.
After all that excitement Guests sat down to a 3 course meal... I sampled it too and can confirm it was so tasty! (Hats off to the chef's at West Tower) Chicken wrapped in bacon.. filled with stuffing on roast potatoes and some veg.
Once everyone was filled to the brim with good food and wine the embarrassing stories arrived in the form of speeches... Tim wasn't let off easily by his two best men and I bet he is going to get them back at some point! Roars of laughter and a few tears later it was time to prepare for the PARTAY!
Evening guests started to arrive... some having a sneaky snog under the mistletoe before heading to the bar! Alex & Lewis Birtwell sang up a storm! From the second they started singing they had guests up on the dancefloor! Its usually empty until after the first dance. Well done lads!
