I keep the whole shoot relaxed and full of laughter so that we get some lovely and natural photographs of you all together. I work with you to get the very best photographs possible so don’t worry if you feel like you’re rubbish at posing or hate being in front of the camera.
With family and children portrait sessions I like to keep things nice and relaxed while giving you all some gentle direction in order to get the beautiful family photographs you see below. Before the session I will talk to you about the best clothes to wear (clothes with a similar colour palette and no giant or bright logos work best). I’ll also do my very best to make you laugh at my (awful) jokes and you’ll have to put up with me throwing myself into bushes, or lying on the ground in order to get the best angles! Anything for my art eh!
I’ve found that the best way to get those relaxed portrait photographs of you all is to go to a location that you love. That can be anywhere from a local park to your garden or a walk that you often make together.
The main thing is comfort. Make sure you choose an outfit that makes you feel good and that will shine through in your photos. Keep it simple with a similar colour palette for everyone. Avoid any huge logos and Neon!
Don’t panic! Firstly I’ve never met anyone who loves having their photo taken so you’re not alone! Secondly, I have skills! These skills of mine produce amazing, natural photographs without you even knowing I’ve taken a picture. Most importantly I make the whole process relaxed and easy for you. Speak to any of my past families and they will tell you exactly how much fun it is to be in front of my lens!
After your photo session, the first thing I do is back up all of your memories. I will then send you an email to let you know when you should expect to receive your gallery. Family & Newborn photographs are typically delivered within 2 weeks but can sometimes be longer. I will always keep you in the loop though.
The amount of photos each family receive varies due to lots of factors. The minimum gallery size is typically between 50-100 images depending on what style of photo session you opt for. I have sample galleries to look at so just give me a shout and I can direct you to them to have a nosy.
Yes! I have public liability insurance and I also ensure all my cameras and kit. I have everything in place to make sure that should a situation arise we are covered.
Don’t worry, We can always reschedule. When booking I will require a booking fee to secure the date of your session however this can be transferred twice due to illness. If you needed to reschedule again then a new booking fee would be required.
For newborn sessions ideally it would just be those living in your household but for family sessions any grandparents, aunts or uncles are more than welcome. Just let me know prior to the day so can put a plan in place on any groupings you could like.
I retain the copyright of all my work. With your gallery you get printing rights which means you can print all of your photos as many times as you like. Just please don’t sell them on.
